The medieval market town of Bungay rises over the water meadows of the Waveney Valley nestled into a loop of the river that twists along the Suffolk-Norfolk border. The historic city of Norwich lies 15 miles to the North with Lowestoft, Beccles and Great Yarmouth to the East (also accessible by river).
Situated in a wild, quiet corner of the Broads, Bungay has long been a meeting place, bringing people together at the fairs and markets that have been meeting at the Buttercross for more than 800 years. Today, the tradition continues with the colourful frontages and pantiled roofs of the independent, boutique shops in Earsham Street providing the backdrop to frequent garden, antique and Christmas street markets.

We have a reduced number of parking space to rear of the pub due to the addition of more outside seating. Access to car park is from Priory Lane, turn left opposite the primary school, adjacent to The Factory Shop and follow the road around to the right for 500m to find our car park. If no space is available, you will have passed two pay and display car parks already.
